What does GWP mean?

GWP stands for Global Warming Potential. It is a measure of how much a greenhouse gas contributes to global warming compared to CO₂ over a given period of time. CO₂ has a GWP value of 1 and is used as the reference. Gases with higher GWP values have a greater negative impact on the climate. In EcoNordic, only CO₂ is used as a refrigerant, resulting in the lowest possible GWP. The EU F-gas regulation places strict requirements on the use of gases with high GWP, leading to reduced use and increased taxes on climate-damaging refrigerants.
